Obsession at its finest

Have you ever been obsessed with anything? Don't lie. We all have, we all know that feeling.
That feeling of constantly thinking or even subconsciously thinking about someone, maybe even something. The desire you have inside to want to learn more, talk more, look more is the feeling of obsession.

Now take that feeling and try to grasp the fact that, that is the way God feels about YOU. HE IS SO OBSESSED WITH YOU, and wants so desperately to hold you when you are hurting, to give you a high five when you are happy and to be the one you come to in every situation.
Why? Because he loves you that much. He loves you, a sinner that fails daily and even hourly, yet he is still obsessed because His love is that strong, that powerful and that forgiving!!
That is such a crazy thought, my mind is blown! I don’t know about you, but that concept is a hard one to grasp, not because I have any doubt but because I am so undeserving. It’s hard for me someone who is a sinner to grasp the fact that someone so undeniably perfect would want me, and would want to love me, even when I make mistakes!  But God does want me, God loves me so much and I have to remind myself daily to take that opportunity and run with it!!! Don’t waste your time feeling like you aren’t good enough because with Christ on your side you are worth more than anything in the world could buy! Talk to the Lord and ask for forgiveness when you fail and spend the rest of your time doing things that will further His kingdom J

This reminds me of the story about the lost sheep that Jesus tells in Luke 15.
The Story of the Lost Sheep
15 1-3 By this time a lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently. The Pharisees and religion scholars were not pleased, not at all pleased. They growled, “He takes in sinners and eats meals with them, treating them like old friends.” Their grumbling triggered this story.
4-7 “Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue.

Be that flower growing in the rain!

I’m about to go a little old school and play a little imagination comparison game, so hang with me it will make sense in the end.  I like to picture our relationship with Christ like this, pretend that Christians are flowers, God is rain and sin and Satan are the drought. Flowers need water to grow, in order for them to be healthy and beautiful. The flower goes a day without water and it believes it’s okay, but without rain the flower slowly begins to wither, whether it’s visible or not. The effects of the drought start to creep in before the flower even sees it coming. And before too long the drought starts to consume the flower.  The flower is withering away and desperate for rain!

For a long time I believed that Christian believers could be at a standstill with Christ, by standstill I mean not growing in their faith, but not necessarily getting worse. In my mind I thought people could go through a rough patch, and during that rough patch they weren’t losing sight of Christ they were just holding on. But it doesn’t work that way. They were the flower going without rain, and without Jesus they were slowly opening the door for the drought to creep in. So in other words you can’t be at a standstill with Christ, because if you aren’t getting rain your flower will wither. That reminds of the verse from Revelation 3:16 that says,
“So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
God doesn’t want you to be lukewarm, at a standstill or a flower going without rain. You have to be on fire for the Lord, you have to growing in your faith because otherwise we are allowing the drought to creep in, we are allowing Satan to take ahold of our weakness and pull us down.

I was wrong. You cannot be at a standstill with Christ it just simply doesn't work that way. You can’t be lukewarm, you need to be filled with rain so you flower can grow in the faith! Filling yourself with the knowledge and wisdom of the word, communicating with the Lord and totally submerging yourself in the love of God.

Be that flower growing in the rain!

Are you Satans volunteer?

Words. Words surround you daily. Words are spoken, written and even thought. Words can be devastating, tearing you down until you feel no longer worthy. Words can be uplifting, give you this sense of confidence that makes you feel like you are flying. Words can hurt or words can heal, the choice is yours.

Who’s words define you? Who do you let tell you what your worth? Are you letting the negativity of this world define who you are in Christ? Are you letting other peoples words consume your mind like a broken record, repeating them over and over and over? Eventually replacing the joy the Lord has given you?
If any of this sound familiar ask yourself this question….Do I want others peoples words to define who I am in Christ? When is enough, enough? Stop it now. Remove these people from your life and make a change to better yourself and your relationship with Christ.
Satan wants you to spend your time thinking about all these hurtful words and pointless battles. He’s using these things to distract you from your ultimate goal of glorifying God. If you don’t stop this now you are allowing Satan to control you, your thoughts and your actions.  You become a volunteer.

My purpose is to be Gods little light, and I’m not letting Satan get in the way. Will it be hard? Yes. Could it be lonely? Yes. But will it be worth it in the end? ABSOLUTELY!  I picture myself standing before the Lord, Him and I alone….no one else, not my mom, bestfriend or boyfriend. At that point NO ONE else will matter, ultimately it will come down to my life and the way I chose to live it.

Are other people and Satan’s distractions worth sacrificing eternity in heaven with The King of Kings….? I’ll let you decide

"Daddy I want to be an ANGEL!"

As a little girl I was raised in a Christian home. I knew nothing different than going to church on Sunday mornings, while eating my cheerios in the back seat.  I was surrounded by an amazing Christian family and parents who supplied me with unconditional love. My parents taught me right from wrong, even if it required punishment. I knew nothing different than sitting in mommy and daddies room at night, reading a bible story and saying our family prayers before bed.
I had heard my fair share of bible stories, many which of contained angels. I was a little girl who asked a BUNCH of questions, always curious about everything.
At age 7, I knew my job on earth was to spread Gods word.
One day while talking to my dad I said, “Daddy I want to live my life sooo good that when I get to heaven God will want to send me back as an angel!”
My dad smiled at the cuteness of his little girl, but he knew what he was about to tell me would break my heart.
He said, “Awh that’s so sweet, but honey God only creates angels to be angels. And God creates humans to be humans.”
I got really sad and said, “Am I not good enough to be an angel?”
My dad could see how upset I was and he said, “You can still do many great things as a human, God has a purpose for you. You can even share Gods word and that will make Him very happy. When you get to heaven he will welcome you with open arms!”
My dad then gave me a big hug.
My point in telling you that story is, all of us, whether we admit it or not, want someone to give us a high five and tell us job well done! I wanted God to give me a thumbs up when I arrived in heaven. Dig deep and pull out that FIRE you have for the Lord. Do whatever it is that the Lord is calling you to do. Be a faithful servant each and every day, besides you never know if you’ll have an encounter with an angel. J

Battle field. This is War!

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

I picture life as a battle between Satan and God. I picture Satan doing everything he can to win over Gods people. I think he surrounds us with negativity, waiting for the moment when we CRACK! That crack is the perfect moment for Satan to fill in with sin.

Have you ever been surrounded by a friend or people that you know are bad for you? After awhile do you catch yourself talking and acting just like them? Or maybe you get annoyed with the gossip but its a constant struggle to maintain a pure heart! ...That’s because the people you hang out with, have an impact on you. The gossip, hurtful words, dirty music, social media and raunchy clothing all start to take over your mind and life. Your thoughts are filled with useless junk that becomes addicting. Wake up call… this is Satan! This is probably the most common struggle! (I’m in the same boat)  Satan uses these people to get to us; he messes with us, and takes us off our path! Smirking is contentment Satan laughs at our weaknesses.

REMOVE THESE PEOPLE AND THINGS FROM YOUR LIFE! Don’t let Satan win this battle. The best protection we have, the only chance of surviving this battle is to have a durable shield of protection, right? God can provide that protection. He tells is in James 4;7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

You can do it ladies. Fight the battle and stay strong, God is by your side.

Materialistic World!

Take a minute and read  1 Timothy 6:7-8..............

When I came across this verse while reading the book of Timothy I'm pretty sure I read it and re-read it and then read it again! Lol. It hit home for me,God was speaking right to me. The way our society today shapes our way of thinking. We get so caught up in our materialistic world that we tend to forget how God intended it to be! Why do we feel this need to have more than we came into this world with? Why do we have this self entitlement? In verse 7 he tells us, "For we brought nothing into the world, we can take nothing out of it." WE BROUGHT NOTHING INTO THIS WORLD! We seriously brought nothing, so why do we have this NEEEED for things and stuff!? Humble yoursleves before The Lord. In verse 8 it says, "But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that." Meaning if you have a pair of clothes and food everyday you should be content with that! And that ALONE! Everything we have is a blessing from God. Be grateful for your abundant blessings and grace.

You are not alone! Oklahoma our prayers are with you...

Oklahoma and anyone effected by the tornadoes our prayers are with you!

You are not alone. It's in times like these that people question why a "God" would make this to happen. The answer is: Its not God making these bad things happen it is the sin in this filthily world. Don't get these 2 things mixed up they are entirely different. In times of tragedy come closer to your brothers and sisters in Christ and use the opportunity to reach out to the, lost, broken and confused.

My Prayer for you today is this......
Dear God our Almighty Protector,We thank you for your abundant love and mercy. In these times of hurt and darkness I pray that you use us to be your light. Please keep all the families that are broken and morning deaths in your tender arms, reminding them that you are present and you will take care of the lost. For the hurt, heal with the hands of God. Lord we know you are with us and we thank you for the blessing you pore into our lives daily, We love you! <3

Amen

My MESS into a MESSAGE....

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

In this messy world we become this big mess. Kinda like your necklaces, ladies you know what I’m talking about! Multiple chains get wrapped in a ball, all twisted and kinked. You spend hours and hours attempting to fix this mess without breaking the chains. You ask yourself, “How did this even happen? I never intended for this!” It happened over time. Over time careless actions and improper care have made this mess, and you are stuck fixing it!
This is a mess that happens in our Christian lives, over time we let things stack up. Problems from the past get put aside and the next thing you know all your problems become connected and now you have a mess. This creates one big mess to be exact because now instead of having to fix one, you have multiple. They are all connected and require time; time to take apart these knots and carefully remove. This so called mess we have can be referred to as life.  Life can be messy and I don’t know about you but..I don’t like cleaning up a mess by myself and you don’t have to. These problems we have in life can be simplified with the help of our Lord.
In 1 Peter 5:7 it says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Now isn’t that nice :) haha no but really we are suppose to turn our mess to the Lord and rely on him as our backbone! That’s pretty awesome if you ask me! But don’t let your mess bundle up, take care of the problems one at a time…we don’t want to worry about broken chains!!

Relationship with Christ as the Focal Point!

Relationships are: complicated, fun, dramatic, goofy and even stressful. Boys are like unending puzzles and most people are always missing that last puzzle piece. Girls search and search for that “perfect guy.” Along the way people sacrifice one of Gods most precious gifts. Couples build relationships on false foundations like; physical attraction, popularity and common interest such as partying! The relationship ends in heartbreak and then you’re left confused and hurt. You have this sick empty feeling in your stomach like someone just punched you and all you want to do is sleep and be alone. Not all relationships are bad and not all end in heartbreak, butthe majority of people that date just to date, experience heartbreak time after time. That last puzzle piece is actually the most important piece in the entire puzzle. It gives you a sense of completion and fullness. It finally makes you feel like you can overcome anything. That last puzzle piece is God.

All relationships should start on a firm unshakeable foundation. God is that platform. As a couple you should discuss you spiritual relationship with Christ and encourage one another to grow each and every day! I know you are thinking…”Say what? No way we’re too young and that’s awkward!” But the truth is having a relationship with God as the focal point makes relationships a tad bit less stressful! (THERE WILL STILL BE STRESS but this gives you a firm foundation) I encourage you to discuss your boundaries and hold each other to them. It’s easy…SAID NO ONE EVER! It’s not easy but it is possible! Pray together, pray for each other and spend time in the word together! These things will make you a powerhouse couple!

I speak from experience. I have been dating my boyfriend for over 2 years and we started out our relationship on a foundation with Christ. It has made us so much stronger! It can be done!:) Our relationships not perfect, and there is stress but that’s true for anyone! My boyfriend pushes me to grow and I couldn’t be more grateful!

When you find the right guy don’t make God that last puzzle piece!!! MAKE HIM FIRST!:)  And single ladies…DON’T SETTLE!
